What Is Event Social Media?Event Social Media is using a smart phone to distribute the event LIVE via Social Media apps, for example, Twitter, Facebook, Google+, Flickr, Foursquare, Yelp and event- driven social meia networks, such as UNATION. This is a fast way to share events or your travels. The menu to the right contains the events These events can range from Grand Prix to Farmer's Markets to Art Walks to birthday party to vacations to walks on the beach and more. It doesn't have to be a designated event. This could just be one of your adventures. Covering an event is similar to a professional photo shoot. ONLY the event is shot with a smart phone and a description applied for distribution using Social Media apps. This allows you to share the event in real time so people can participate from afar, later when time allows or when they hear about this! The images may be taken with a quality camera, however, they will need to be reviewed, resized and posted back at the house, pressroom, or any location. Using Social Media is not limited to Twitter or social bookmarking. Video can also be shot and uploaded then or later to Facebook or Youtube. However, the risk of putting the video up ASAP is that it may not be edited. If you look at my video library, this is B-Roll, that is, unedited - one take video. This is what I call "impromptu" video - no retakes! The video can be loaded directly with the understanding that this is B-Roll or edited back in the pressroom and uploaded the same day or later. This may limit your video availability. However, this is an event decision on what to post and edit as this reflects the brand. Just a note, you are not limited to Twitter, but it does provide a quick means! You can tweet the message and picture, then cross-post to Facebook and other channels. When using Twitter, I recommend using a hashtag so the event can be easily searched.
